Abstract
The value of South
Sumatra's exports in June 2020 increased by 2.03 percent compared to exports in
May 2020. However, when compared with the same period in 2019 (January-June
2019) South Sumatra Province's exports experienced a decrease of 15.70 percent.
The export value of the
South Sumatra Province in June 2020 of US $ 245.72 million consisted of oil and
gas exports of US $ 7.92 million and US $ 237.80 million which was the result
of non-oil and gas commodity exports.
China, the United
States and Malaysia became the main export destination countries of South
Sumatra in the period January - June 2020, each with US $ 547.83 million, US $
161.15 million and US $ 150.50 million, with the roles of the three reaching
51.12 percent of total exports for the period January - June 2020.
The value of South
Sumatra imports in June 2020 was US $ 52.46 million, down 9.48 percent when compared
to imports in May 2020.
Imports of South
Sumatra Province in June 2020 amounting to US $ 52.46 million consisting of oil
and gas imports amounting to US $ 1.91 million and non-oil and gas totaling US
$ 50.55 million.
The biggest countries
of origin for the period January - June 2020 were China with an import value of
US $ 191.82 million, followed by Malaysia with an import value of US $ 28.24
million and Vietnam with an import value reaching US $ 11.42 million.
