In January 2013 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $296.50 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in January 2013 decreased by 7.07 percent compared to December 2012. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2012 (January 2012) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 5.92 percent
The export value of South Sumatra Province in January 2013 was US $ 296.50 million, consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 49.29 million and US $ 247.22 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
Malaysia, the United States and India are the main export destinations south Sumatra, during January 2013 each reached US $ 68.03 million, US $ 60.64 million and US $ 26.84 million, with the role of the three reaching 52.45 percent of total exports in January 2013.
Exports to the European Union in January 2013 reached US $ 41.85 million (14.11 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have increased compared to the same period in 2012 which reached 35.29 million.
