Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in February 2013 was 110.32 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2013 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the February 2013 NTP decreased by 0, 12 caused by the increase in the price index received by farmers in general is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • The NTP of Rice & Palawija in South Sumatra in February 2013 was 124.89 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in February 2013 fell by 0.37 percent .
  • Horticulture NTP in February 2013 was 112.48 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, January's horticultural NTP fell by 0.12 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in February 2013 was 93.19 percent, indicating that the capacity of smallholders in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in February 2013 increased0.27 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in February 2013 was 104.17 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.17 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in February 2013 was 114.58 percent. However, when compared with the previous month, the fisherman exchange rate dropped by 1.01 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In February 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.73 percent, mainly due to the increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 1.03 percent.
